MIDDLETOWN – It has been two months since the City of Middletown began issuing municipal identification cards to any city resident who wanted to purchase one and to date, hundreds have been issued.

Middletown was the first city in the Mid-Hudson to offer them and City Clerk John Naumchik said they are still available.

“So far we have issued over 700 municipal IDs in our office and we doing them every day from 9 to 4,” he said. “Everything you need is on the city website for proof of ID and proof of residency.”

The cities of Poughkeepsie, Kingston, and Newburgh, which also approved the IDs, are in the process of setting up their systems to distribute them.
