Three arrested in Cortlandt home invasion

CORTLANDT – Three people were arrested on Wednesday in connection with a home invasion and assault that occurred on Lexington Avenue in the Town of Cortland on May 15.

Investigation found three individuals were involved in a confrontation involving weapons, including a knife and baseball bat. One person sustained non-life-threatening stab wounds.

Arrested were an 18-year-old who was charged with assault with intent to cause injury with a knife and criminal possession of a weapon; Bernardo Orozco, 42, of Cortlandt, who was charged with attempted assault with a baseball bat and criminal possession of a weapon; and Shakeal Tyler, 27, of Ossining, who was charged with burglary.

The 18-year-old is in the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or bond. Orozco is held without bail. Tyler’s bail is $7,500 cash bond.
