Molinaro (blue windbreaker) with union members

BEACON – The Civil Service Employees Association, the largest Dutchess County government employees union, Thursday announced its endorsement of incumbent Republican County Executive Marcus Molinaro in the November election.

He is being challenged by Democrat Joseph Ruggiero.

Union President Lizbeth Piraino said they are backing Molinaro because he recognizes the importance of the work the county employees perform.

“The other thing is he recognizes the importance of open communication between the CSEA leadership whether it be the state, the region or our local CSEA 814,” she said.

The endorsement was announced at the regional CSEA offices in Beacon.

Other unions that announced their endorsement of Molinaro Thursday were Road Sprinklers Fitters Local Union 669, United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of American Local 279, Laborers Local 235, Iron Workers Local 417, and UA Local Union 21 – Plumbers, Steamfitters and HVACR Service Technicians.
