WAWARSING – Three prisoners at Ulster Correctional Facility had to be administered Narcan Tuesday night after they apparently overdosed on illegal drugs.

A call over the Ulster County 911 emergency radio system reported the three had overdosed and called for outside medical assistance.

They were taken to the facility’s medical unit for assessment and treatment with the opioid reversal drug administered by medical staff.

They were then transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment and later released back to the prison.

          The incident is under investigation.
