HURLEY – A 51-year-old Accord man was killed when the motorcycle he was operating was involved in a three-vehicle crash on Route 209 near the intersection of Wynkoop Road in the Town of Hurley Wednesday morning.

The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said that around 7:49 a.m., a 2005 Dodge Magnum driven by Gloria Davis, 65, of Kingston, was traveling northbound on Route 209 when she was slowing to make a left turn onto Wynkoop Road. A state prison van, a 2018 Chevrolet Express, driven by Correction Officer Simon Prindle, rear-ended the Dodge.

The motorcyclist, Timothy Bruck, 51, was traveling behind the prison van when he lost control in an effort to avoid colliding but struck the rear of the van.

Bruck was found unconscious and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another corrections officer and two male inmates were in the van. The drivers and passengers in the van and Dodge were transported to the Health Alliance Broadway Campus with minor injuries.

The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by State Police, State Accident Reconstruction Team, fire departments from Hurley, Marbletown, and Ulster Hose, Hurley Ambulance and Mobile Life Support Services ambulance.
