Man dies one week after being stabbed in Beacon

BEACON – City Police in Beacon have charged a 22-year-old man with manslaughter in connection with the stabbing death of another man.

          At around 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, police were called to South Davies Terrace for a man who was stabbed.

          The victim, identified as Richard Viera, 55, was transported to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh before being transferred to Westchester Medical Center. He died on Friday, May 17.

          The following day, police arrested Keano Munoz, 22, and charged him with manslaughter.

          He was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $150,000 cash bail or $300,000 bond.
