New Paltz man accused of distributing kilos of coke

NEW PALTZ – A New Paltz man was arrested Friday on felony drug charges following a 10-month investigation into the distribution of kilograms of both powder and crack cocaine.

When investigators arrested Johnny Jones, 43, following a warrant search at his home, they seized 850 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, a stolen .40 caliber handgun, several rounds of ammunition, scales, drug packaging, marijuana about $10,000 in cash and a 2006 BMW.

Jones was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property, obstructing governmental administration, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $250,000 bond. The investigation was coordinated between State Police and the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office.
