TOWN OF LLOYD – The 437-acre former Hudson Valley Winery along the Hudson River in the Town of Lloyd has received the go ahead to develop a $273 million hotel, conference center and mixed use project.

Dubbed Hudson Valley Wine Village, the project is approved for a 140-room hotel, spa and restaurant, two wedding chapels and other components, noted Chief Operating Officer Andrew Maxon.

“From the development side in order to create jobs, which will create the demand for housing, we have 450,000 square feet approved for light industrial. Our residential component consists of 800 units and we have 150,000 square feet of commercial retail space available in the development,” Maxon said.

Plans call for a 15-year build-out and it is projected to provide employment for 2,000 people. Developers are seeking tenants and joint venture opportunities to move the project forward and Maxon said ground could be broken on the initial development later this year
