Teenage brothers charged with armed robbery, one with rape

POUGHKEEPSIE – Two brothers
from the City of Poughkeepsie have been arrested in connection with six
armed robberies in the upper north area of the city since the beginning
of November.

In each case, the assaults included two male suspects.

On November 23, a 13-year-old girl reported being sexually assaulted by
three males, one of who had a gun.

Following an investigation, City Police arrested the brothers, ages 17 and
15. Each was charged with armed robbery and the younger one was charged
with forcible rape.

The 17-year-old was sent to the Dutchess County Jail while the younger brother
was remanded to a secure juvenile detention facility.
A handgun was recovered during the course of the investigation.

Police continue to investigate the case and are asking anyone with information
