NEW YORK – Rep Sean Patrick Maloney (D, NY-18) has been hospitalized in Manhattan with what has been described as a bacterial infection.
The Cold Spring Democrat who was recently re-elected to his fourth term in the House of Representatives visited the emergency room at New York-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt last weekend.
His office reported the following day, the congressman checked himself into New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan where he is undergoing intravenous antibiotic medications.
Maloney, 52, issued a statement Tuesday, saying “I am reminded of the adage – ‘Man plans and God laughs!’ I have always been blessed with good health but this condition is going to require a few days of intensive treatment.”
His office indicated the congressman is expected to return home by week’s end.
