MIDDLETOWN – The Amy’s Kitchen food manufacturing facility in the Town of Goshen should begin construction in earnest now that the state has approved a water line from the City of Middletown to the Town of Goshen site.
Middletown will sell water to Amy’s.  Mayor Joseph DeStefano said Albany has approved the arrangement.
“The water taking permit goes to the city for the Amy’s project; that was one thing we were waiting for before Amy’s could move forward with their construction and it was a long process,” the mayor said. “We had the ability to provide the water and we were able to demonstrate that to the DEC so the permit has been issued and there is no holding them back at this point.”
DeStefano anticipates construction of the line will begin in the spring with the full project underway after that.
