MONTICELLO – An East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania man has been arrested
and charged in connection with a fatal car crash on the night of October
16 in the Town of Thompson.
Patrick Collins, 50, of Pennsylvania was charged with misdemeanor DWI
and aggravated vehicular homicide as a felony. Investigation revealed
he was drunk while driving a 2015 Toyota Corolla that struck a 2002 Honda
Accord being operated by Luis Diaz, 33, of Monticello. Diaz was pronounced
dead at the scene and his passenger was injured.
Diaz was driving east in the westbound lane of Route 17 when his car struck
the other vehicle.
