New Town of Palm Tree elects unopposed slate

PALM TREE – The newly formed Town of Palm Tree held its first elections with all six candidates running unopposed.
Abraham Wieder, the mayor of the Village of Kiryas Joel, is now also town supervisor of Palm Tree. Gedalye Szegedin, who is the Kiryas Joel village administrator, was elected as Palm Tree town clerk.
Four candidates for town board were all elected unopposed – Isaac Glanzer, Gerson Neuman, Joshua Blumenthal, and Morris Steinberg.
The Village of Kiryas Joel still exists within the boundaries of the new town.
