Kingston man charged with firing stolen gun

KINGSTON – A Kingston man is in the Ulster County Jail without
bail after being arrested following a gun investigation.

City police were called to Liberty Street in Kingston in the evening of
October 31 for a report of shots fired.

A stolen and loaded nine millimeter handgun was recovered at the scene.

Investigation since then found that Willard Williams, 47, allegedly fired
the gun and discarded it under a vehicle on Liberty Street.

He was taken into custody and charged with three counts of criminal possession
of a weapon and one count of criminal possession of stolen property.
