SUFFERN – Virginia Menschner was Suffern village clerk for 55 years.  She began her career with the village in May 1958. She passed away Wednesday night at age 96.
“Throughout her career, Virginia warmly touched the lives of all our residents, signing over 100,000 birth certificates; celebrating each birth with love and joy,” said Mayor Ed Markunas. “On behalf of the village board and village staff, we say goodbye and extend our deepest sympathies to the devoted family that she so dearly loved.”
Menschner served under the administrations of 13 mayors, was an honorary
chief of the Suffern Fire Department, a founding member of the Village
of Suffern Community Foundation, a member of the Village of Suffern Museum,
