GOSHEN – The Blooming Grove man who pled guilty to murdering his brother on February 6 at Mountain Lodge Park in Blooming Grove was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison by Orange County Court Judge Craig Stephen Brown on Monday.
George Bawn, 38, admitted that he intentionally killed his brother, James, 35, by shooting him. Prosecutors argued George Bawn shot his brother four times in the head and torso with a .45 caliber gun.
“This was an intentional violent murder of an unarmed man that is even more incomprehensible given the relationship between this defendant and his victim,” said District Attorney David Hoovler.
State Police and Blooming Grove Police investigated the case.
