Three rescued when kayak overturns in Hudson River

CORNWALL – Three people were pulled from the Hudson River off Cornwall
early Sunday afternoon when the kayak they were in capsized.

Storm King Engine Company was called to the scene and called Newburgh,
West Point and Vails Gate to assist in the rescue operation.

The three were located, rescued and transported by EMS to the Cornwall
Yacht Club they were met by emergency medical services staff from New
Windsor and Cornwall.

They were transported to Saint Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.

Assisting at the scene on the river were Highland Engine Company, Town
and Village of Cornwall Police and State Police.
