Monticello man arrested for two Town of Wallkill burglaries

TOWN OF WALLKILL – A Monticello man is under arrest following an
investigation into two burglaries at the same Town of Wallkill residence.

One incident occurred at 12:30 a.m. on September 27 and the other at 4:15
p.m. the following day.

Following investigation by Detective Christopher Dinapoli and Office Robert
Reid of the Wallkill Detective Bureau, Steven Ellis, 26, was arrested
on Thursday evening, October 11.

Police said as a result of the investigations, 32 of the 35 items stolen
were recovered and returned to the victim.

Ellis was charged with two counts each of burglary and criminal possession
of stolen property.

He was remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $30,000
bond.
