KINGSTON – A Port Ewen man has been indicted by an Ulster County
grand jury on two counts of felony assault and one count of child endangerment.
The charges against Jeremiah Smith stem from an investigation conducted
by Kingston Police and the District Attorney’s Child Advocacy investigators
concerning significant burn injuries suffered by a two-year-old girl in
the bathtub of her home on July 9, 2018 when Smith left her alone in a
bathtub.
The child sustained second-degree burns from her waist down.
