Teen accused of having sexual contact with child under 11

GREENPORT – The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Claverack youth on a felony charge of criminal sexual act.
The sheriff’s office was notified of the allegations after receiving a report of child abuse or neglect from the Child Abuse Hotline.
Michael Burke, 16, is accused of performing oral sex on a person under
the age of 11. The crime allegedly occurred in the Town of Greenport on
August 26. Burke was sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $1,000
cash bail or $2,000 bond.
The Columbia County District Attorney’s Office and the Dr. Stephen and Suzanne Menkes Child Advocacy Center assisted with this investigation.
