KINGSTON – An Ulster Park woman, who went to the Ulster County Jail on Sunday to visit an inmate, has been arrested on drug charges.
The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said Amanda Syvertsen, 29, was charged with the misdemeanor of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
During her visit to the jail, a K-9 from the Corrections Division detected an odor of contraband coming from Syvertsen’s vehicle. A subsequent search determined she possessed a pill bottle containing different types of narcotic medication not apparently prescribed to her.
Syvertsen was released with an appearance ticket to appear in the City of Kingston Court on a later date.
