WHITE PLAINS – GuildNet,
a managed long term care program of the Lighthouse Guild, is ending effective
December 1, its president, Alan Morse, announced. The agency Lighthouse
Guild is not closing

The health provider for the blind made the “difficult decision”
to terminate the GuildNet program effective December 1.

“Over the last several years we have made numerous changes to improve
the overall performance of GuildNet,” Morse said in a letter to
their employees. “Despite our collective best efforts we have not
been successful. I know this is devastating news and I share your disappointment.”
He said the decision has been “a personally painful” one.

A total of 80 employees, members of 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers
and Nurses, will be affected by the closure.
