WHITE PLAINS – Construction
has begun on a $5.1 million resurfacing of five miles of Route 22 in the
Village of Scarsdale and Yonkers Avenue in the City of Yonkers.

Route 22 is a primary route for commuters and serves as a main route for
the Bee-line bus service to access the Hartsdale Metro-North railroad
station.

Yonkers Avenue provides connections for commuters to local parkways and
a number of businesses.

Both roads will have one to one-and-a-half inches of existing pavement
milled and replaced with one-and-one-half inches of new hot mix asphalt
pavement.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.
Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result
in the suspension of a person’s driver’s license.
