Greene County motorcyclist killed in New Baltimore accident

NEW BALTIMORE – A 41-year-old
Coeymans Hollow man was killed in an accident while riding his motorcycle
on Route 9W in the area of the south end of Flatbush Road in the Town
of New Baltimore.

Killed in the 9:43 p.m. accident on Wednesday was Jeremy Bendzlowicz.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office said a car driven by Ashley Ubrich,
29, of New Baltimore, was traveling southbound on Route 9W in a pickup
truck as Bendzlowicz was going northbound.

A short distance behind the motorcycle operator was a car driven by Jeanne
Brockett, 70, of New Baltimore.

Witnesses told investigators that Ubrich failed to yield the right of
way and made a left turn in front of Bendzlowicz causing his motorcycle
to strike the rear of her truck. After he hit the pickup, Brockett was
unable to stop in time and struck the motorcycle and Bendzlowicz.

Attempts at reviving him failed and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is continuing with the Greene County District Attorney’s
Office regarding any potential tickets or charges to be filed.

Also assisting at the scene were State Police, Coxsackie Village Police,
Coxsackie Ambulance, New Baltimore Fire Department, New Baltimore Rescue,
Ravena Ambulance, and Greene County EMS. Life Net of New York helicopter
was launched by cancelled.
