Plattekill man charged with stealing $8,000in copper piping from Lowes store

HIGHLAND – A Plattekill
man was arrested on Monday on a felony charge of grand larceny for allegedly
stealing some $8,000 in copper piping from the Lowes store in Highland.

Lloyd Town Police charged that John Steinard, 63, with taking the piping
over the course of several weeks in July.

He was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.

Police Lt. James Janso said Steinard may be facing charges in other jurisdictions
in Orange and Dutchess counties where other larcenies occurred at Lowed
stores.
