Man stabbed when tries to intercede in assault on woman

NYACK – Orangetown Police are investigating the stabbing of a man when he attempted to assist a woman who was being struck by a man, allegedly at a Nyack restaurant.
Police said the incident allegedly occurred at O’Malley’s Restaurant at 108 Main Street on Friday, August 10 at around 3:15 in the morning.
The man said an altercation had started involving a man striking a woman. He attempted to assist the woman when he was jumped by at least three men. He fled, but when he got home, he realized he had been stabbed and went to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. He was treated for three puncture wounds and later released.
Orangetown detectives ask anyone who may have witnesses or took cell phone video of the incident to all them at 845-359-2121 or go to Tip411.com and give your information anonymously.
