SUNY Orange tuition up by $200 for 2018-19 academic year

MIDDLETOWN – Tuition at SUNY Orange is set at $4,976 for the full academic year beginning shortly, a $200 increase over last year’s.
The county legislature approved $28.5 million toward the total $61.4 million spending plan.
“Seeing that we’ve had some declines in our tuition revenue, certainly we were fortunate that the legislature of Orange County approved a three percent increase in what they are supporting us with,” college spokesman Michael Albright said on Thursday.
Tuition and state aid make up the remainder of the budget funding.
The college has also been working to cut last year’s $2 million deficit by cutting expenses, Albright said.
