Ramapo youth gymnastic coach charged in multi-count sexual abuse indictment

NEW CITY – A Port Chester man was arraigned on Tuesday in Rockland County Court on three counts of course of sexual conduct against a child and five counts of sexual abuse, all as felonies.
Joseph Lewin, also known as Joseph Lewandoski, 67, allegedly engaged in sexual contact with at least seven underage victims over a seven-year period from about 2007 to 2014 while working as a gymnastics coach at several athletic facilities in Rockland County.
Lewandoski is in the Rockland County Jail without bail. If convicted, he faces up to seven years in state prison on the top count of the indictment.
Ramapo Police investigated the case.
