Regional unemployment down in June

ALBANY – All Hudson Valley counties experienced lower unemployment in June as compared to the same month last year.
Columbia County, with 3.3 percent joblessness, has the lowest rate in the state and a drop from 3.6 percent one year earlier.
Putnam County, with a rate of 3.8 percent, was ranked sixth in the state and a drop from 4.3 percent in June 2017.
Sullivan, Dutchess and Rockland counties each had 3.9 percent unemployment. Sullivan declined from 4.5 percent. Dutchess and Rockland counties dropped from 4.4 percent.
Ulster County experienced a 4.0 rate of unemployment, down from 4.5 percent.
Orange and Westchester counties each had 4.1 percent unemployment in June. Orange declined from 4.7 percent.  Westchester dropped from 4.5 percent.
Region-wide in the Hudson Valley, unemployment was at 4.0 percent. Statewide, the rate was 4.2 percent.
