MONTICELLO – A female corrections officer at the Woodbourne Correctional Facility in the Town of Fallsburg is suspended without pay following her arrest for having sex with a male inmate.
On Friday, July 20, following a one-month investigation by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Liberty and the State Department of Correction and Community Supervision of Special Investigations, Officer Teeka Perkins, 44, of Monticello, was arrested. She was charged with having a sexual relationship with a Woodbourne Correctional Facility inmate where she worked.
Evidence was discovered following a search of the inmate’s cube and a subsequent search of Perkins’ Monticello home.
Perkins was charged with felony rape and misdemeanors of promoting prison contraband and official conduct.
The Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation.
