Motorcyclist seriously injured in Claverack crash


CLAVERACK – A man operating
a motorcycle on Route 23 in the Town of Copake around 4 p.m. on Wednesday
sustained serious injuries when his bike crashed west of Donnely Road.

State Police from the Livingston barracks said investigation suggests
the motorcycle operated by Thomas Golden, 34, was traveling at a high
rate of speed and lost control as he attempted to avoid colliding with
another vehicle.

Golden was airlifted to Albany Medical Center by LifeNet.

The investigation is continuing.

State Police were assisted by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office,
Churchtown Fire Department, Greenport Rescue and Claverack Fire Department.
