POUGHKEEPSIE – For a second day in a row, Governor Cuomo was in the Hudson Valley telling local politicos and supporters to “stand up and fight back” against the conservative Trump Administration.
The governor, who was in Poughkeepsie on Wednesday, after appearing in Yonkers the day before, had the same message in both cities: that New York should codify Roe V. Wade.
“I want to get it done before the Supreme Court does that because I don’t want any gap in a woman’s right to protection and we have a better legal case when the Supreme Court acts because I will sue when the supreme Court acts and I want the New York State law in place,” he said above a roaring cheer from his supporters.
At both events Cuomo signed his executive order mandating payment for
female birth control methods for women regardless of their health insurance
policy including Medicaid.
