TOWN OF LLOYD – A New Paltz woman was killed in the Route 299 crash Sunday evening.
State Police said Danielle Pecoraro, 39, was driving a Ford pickup that was hit head-on by a Porsche Cayenne that was fleeing police at a high rate of speed.
Town of Lloyd Police tried without success to stop the Porsche, driven by Ryan Williams, 29, of Poughkeepsie. As Williams’ car approached the intersection at South Street, it struck the side of another car and then crossed into the opposite lane striking the pickup.
Williams was transported to Westchester Medical Center and is listed in critical but stable condition.
The passenger in the truck, Mercedes Rosato, 24, of New Paltz, was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie in stable condition.
The investigation is continuing with the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office investigating with criminal charges pending.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call State Police at Highland at 845-691-2922.
Back in 2013, Williams was charged with offering a $2,000 bribe to a Kingston police officer who stopped him for speeding and running a red light. He was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle at that time.
