Thruway traffic stop yields over three pounds of pot

TOWN OF NEWBURGH – A Kingston man was arrested after State Police stopped a car for a traffic violation on the Thruway in the Town of Newburgh.
Tarrence Daniel, 26, a passenger in the car, was found in possession of some 3.4 pounds of marijuana and 20 vials of cannabis oil.
He was charged in the 9:30 p.m. Tuesday traffic stop and investigation with felony criminal possession of marijuana and misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance. The driver was charged with a vehicle and traffic violation.
Daniel was sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $3,000 bond.
