CARMEL – Moms, dads and kids of all ages converged on Lake Gleneida in Carmel Sunday for what has become a tradition—the 6th Annual Family Fishing Day.
The event is co-sponsored by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
The agencies supplied rods, reels and bait for the anglers.
Lake Gleneida is home to a wide variety of fish including bass, crappie, perch, bullheads, sunfish and trout.
An official for the DEC said more than 100 families participated in the family fishing day which he forecast would return next spring.
