WHITE PLAINS – A Yonkers man was sentenced to 16 years in state prison in connection with an armed robbery of two men in Yonkers.
Lamont McLean, 24, was found guilty of two counts of robbery after a jury trial before Judge Barry Warhit.
On July 26, 2016 at about 4:40 p.m., McLean and Floyd Bruce, both of Yonkers, were armed with handguns when they approached two men in a parked car in Yonkers. They robbed them before running from the scene. Yonkers Police arrested both the next day at which time a 22 caliber semi-automatic handgun was recovered from Bruce.
In an earlier unrelated incident, in the afternoon of July 16, 2016, Bruce was walking on Willow Street in Yonkers when he fired a 22 caliber semi-automatic pistol striking a four-year-old girl in the leg. She was not the intended target. The child was taken to a local hospital where she was treated and released a few days later.
Bruce, 20, who pled guilty on June 8, 2017, is scheduled to be sentenced later this month on robbery, attempted assault and criminal possession of a weapon, all as felonies.
