Yonkers man pleads guilty to stabbing his wife to death

WHITE PLAINS – A Yonkers
resident pled guilty before Westchester County Court Judge Barry Warhit
on Tuesday to murder in the stabbing death of his wife on May 2017.

Joseph Abraham faces 25 years to life in state prison when sentenced in
August.

He pled to killing Amanda Trench in their apartment following an argument
at about 1:30 in the morning of May 21, 2017. At 9 a.m., Abrahams was
found unconscious in a full bathtub. Cuts were visible on his wrists and
the right side of his neck. His wife’s body was found in their bedroom
slumped over the bed with several stab wounds and a large amount of blood
visible around her.

Abraham was taken to the hospital for treatment and Trenck was pronounced
dead at the scene. Two knives were recovered from the bedroom near her
body.
