Town of Ulster man convicted of assault

KINGSTON – A Town of Ulster man with a criminal history of domestic assault, was convicted in Ulster County Court on Wednesday on an assault charge.

On December 1, 2017 at about 9:30 p.m., Ulster Town Police Officer Ralph
Leiter responded to a panic alarm at a residence and through a window
he saw blood on the walls inside and the victim, covered in blood, hovering
in a corner. Investigation determined the victim was repeatedly beaten
by Planthaber suffering a fractured jaw and several broken ribs.

There were 2,360 domestic incidents reported in Ulster County last year.
