Shoplifter threatens store worker with use of gun

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A Poughkeepsie man is under arrest after he told an employee at Adams Fairacre Farms at 765 Dutchess Turnpike in the Town of Poughkeepsie that he had a gun in his bag when he tried to flee the store after shoplifting.
No weapon was seen or displayed or found when Poughkeepsie Town Police took Corey Belton, 25, into custody later in the day on Tuesday, May 29.
Belton was charged with felony robbery and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
