Sager (file): “… dysfunctional …”

MONTICELLO – Days after Monticello Mayor Douglas Solomon resigned because of his new full-time job as Newburgh police chief, and the appointment by the village board of Gary Sommers as mayor, Village Manager David Sager has submitted his resignation, effective June 1.
Sommers, a former Monticello mayor, won election to the village board earlier this year.
Now, Sager said he will step down because of the “dysfunctional, hostile and toxic work environment.”
Prior to being named village manager, Sager, a chiropractor, was the deputy county health commissioner and a county Legislator.
