Trooper removves a load of marijuana plants

HILLSIDE – Armed with a search warrant, State Police raided a large marijuana grow operation on West End Road in the Town of Hillside.
The police action on Tuesday resulted in the arrest of James Valentin, 49, on felony charges of criminal possession of marijuana, as well as misdemeanor drug possession and unlawful growing of cannabis.

State Police from the Livingston barracks and Troop K Community Narcotics Enforcement Team seized several cannabis plants in various stages of growth in the residence as well as a large quantity of prepared marijuana.
Valentin was also charged with possession of a controlled substance in a non-original container as a violation. He was sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
