Southbound Thruway crash ties up traffic at Newburgh

A massive truck crash tied up traffic on the southbound in the Town
of Newburgh late Monday afternoon

NEWBURGH – A tractor-trailer crash on the southbound Thruway just
north of exit 17 in the Cronomer Valley section of the Town of Newburgh
late Monday afternoon shut down traffic on the superhighway.

One trailer rested on top of another in the crash.
Fire and EMS personnel were on the scene and traffic was diverted from
the highway at exit 18 southbound.
A large crane was brought into separate the trailers.
A medivac helicopter flew in to transport injured persons to the hospital.
