NEW PALTZ – A bus driver
for the Ulster County Area Transit system died Tuesday night when he suffered
a fatal medical emergency, County Executive Michael Hein said on Wednesday.
Hein said Billy Davis suffered the tragic event at the intersection of
Route 299 and North Putt Corners Road in New Paltz at around 8:15 p.m.
No other injuries were reported.
First responders performed CPR and then transferred Davis to Vassar Brothers
Medical Center in Poughkeepsie where he was pronounced dead.
“Our deepest thoughts and prayers are with his loving family as
well as his coworkers during this time of great sorrow,” Hein said.
