ULSTER PARK – The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident in which a pickup truck struck a man riding a bicycle on Route 9W just south of Waterside Garden Road in Ulster Park.
Authorities said a preliminary investigation at the scene of the 6:20 p.m. incident on Monday revealed that a pickup driven by Michael Brailey, 33, of Red Hook, was traveling north on Route 9W when the truck left the road and struck the bicyclist. Justin Boyd, 33, of Port Ewen died at the scene.
The investigation is continuing by members of the State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit. Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Port Ewen Fire Department and Town of Esopus Volunteer Ambulance Squad.
