Poughkeepsie City cop pulls would-be jumper off Walkway railing

POUGHKEEPSIE – A man, who had climbed over the railing on the Walkway Over the Hudson Late Tuesday Afternoon, was pulled to safety by a Poughkeepsie city police officer.
Shortly after 4 p.m., the man stepped over the railing on the Poughkeepsie side of the bridge prompting a rapid response from police and fire departments from the area.
A Poughkeepsie city officer is said to have grabbed the man and pulled him to safety. He was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
