Prom perfect, thanks to Temple Sinai

MIDDLETOWN – Temple Sinai in Middletown launched its fourth annual Dress Extravaganza on Sunday, offering prom clothes for young ladies and men.
The event, which continues in the afternoons today and tomorrow (Monday and Tuesday), is assisting promo-goers with wardrobes for the big events coming up, said Ed Bloomfield, Temple Sinai board first vice president.
“It is just a wonderful, wonderful thing that people are able to receive these and all we want to do is make all of these youngsters in the community happy,” Bloomfield said.
In addition to the gowns and suits – over 600 have been donated – shoes and jewelry are also available. A hair stylist was on hand Sunday to provide free haircuts. Actors and actresses attended to model and sign autographs.
Last year’s event resulted in over 200 ensembles putting smiles on young people’s faces. Bloomfield expected that number could triple this year.
Bloomfield’s wife, Josephine, is one of the event coordinators.
