WHITE PLAINS – A 34-year-old Mount Vernon man has been charged
with murder in the death Monday of his two-year-old son.

Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Carpino, Jr. said Lloyd Scott
allegedly took his son’s life in their home in an apartment at 531
East Lincoln Avenue in Mount Vernon.

Prosecutors allege Scott was alone with the child on Monday, April 16
while the child’s mother was at work.

After she returned home, the mother found the child in bed, unresponsive,
and took him to Montefiore Mount Vernon hospital where he was pronounced
dead. An autopsy revealed the toddler had suffered from blunt force trauma
to his body.

Mount Vernon Police charged Scott with murder; he was arraigned and remanded
to the Westchester County Jail without bail.
