POUGHKEEPSIE – The executive
committee of the State Conservative Party has voted to recommend to the
party that it back Republican Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro
for governor.

Molinaro appears to have the support of the state GOP committee over Senate
Deputy Majority Leader John DeFrancisco.

Conservative Party Chairman Michael Long said Molinaro “will make
New York more affordable and end Andrew Cuomo’s culture of corruption
– he has the record, the message and the integrity to get out state
back on track.”

The state Conservative Committee will conduct its formal nominating convention
next month.

Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo is facing a challenge within his own
party from “Sex in the City” actress Cynthia Nixon.
