Hillsdale man arrested for sexual abuse

HILLSDALE – A Hillsdale man has been arrested and charged with two counts of sexual abuse as felonies.
On April 4, Columbia County Sheriff’s deputies received a report that two children under the age 13 were victims of sexual abuse. An investigation revealed they were subjected to sexual contact on different occasions between 2012 and 2017.
On Wednesday, April 11, Edyn Ortega-Lopez was arrested, arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office and the Stephen and Suzanne Menkes Child Advocacy Center.
