Man charged with knife-wielding threat in domestic dispute

SAUGERTIES – A Saugerties man is charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing following a domestic dispute involving a knife at 145 Timberwall Road in Saugerties.  The incident occurred on April 10,
Saugerties Police said according to witnesses, Anthony Appolonia, 47, grabbed a knife, raised it over his head in a stabbing motion and yelled that he was going to kill the person with whom he was arguing.
A struggle ensued between the two during which the victim was able to get the knife away from Appolonia, who sustained a minor laceration. He was treated at the scene, later arraigned and released after posting bail.
A court order of protection was issued by the court on behalf of the victim.
State Police assisted Saugerties Police at the scene of the incident.
